European Port in Allert – Important seizure in the port of Hamburg.
An important cocaine seizure at Hamburg port Direct to Helsingborg in end of April confirms that there is a direct link for cocaine smuggling from South America to Helsingborg, according to customs.
More than 2500kg of cocaine hidden in a refrigerated containers loaded with bananas from Ecuador stopped in Hamburg with final destination Helsingborg.
”The seizure confirms what we have long suspected, that there is a direct link to Helsingborg from South America where the cocaine is produced. It is also a remarkable method that they enter the port area and empty containers in this way,” said Erik Friberg, head of Customs’ criminal division south, in a press release
